A Study on Microwave Exposure Effects on Surface Coating Properties of Linden (Tilia cordata) and Spruce (Picea abies) Woods

The quality performance of surface coatings are evaluated with emphasis on Microwave (Mw) irradiation, effects both wood and oil modified alkyd-based varnish, separately. pencil film hardness value 2B (5 in metric) found for neat varnish coated linden spruce control samples. It appears Mw exposure woods were effective further increasing which about 4 5 unit higher than controls. is also noticeable that a clear improvement cross-cut (adhesion) properties realized treated woods. Although cold liquid resistance coating evaluations have conducted 11 liquids, but surfaces showed the lowest resistance, assessed grade 1 (considerably changes) five these liquids (juice, milk, ketchup, lemon juice, cola) regardless conditions or species. Therefore, results revealed some level correlation between samples six involved examination. usually show to 2 olive oil, vinegar, mayonnaise, ethyl alcohol while no any coffee mineral water.
